RevoDocs overview

What RevoDocs keeps for each customer (pages, structured records, knowledge base articles), where it sits in Revo, and how the credential vault fits in.

Updated

On this page

RevoDocs is Revo's IT documentation module: the place your team writes down how each customer's IT fits together, so whoever picks up the next ticket finds it in the same place. It's a module like RevoPSA or RevoRMM, licensed on its own. Passwords live in the credential vault, which is part of Revo itself and works with RevoDocs on or off.

What it keeps

  • Pages: free-form documentation in Markdown, per customer or internal (your own), in folders, with every version kept and files attached. See Documentation pages.
  • Records: structured documentation with the same fields for every customer: a Network, a Wi-Fi network, an Application, a Vendor, a Licence, a Backup, Email. Fields can point at a credential in the vault, a device, a contact or a site. See Structured records.
  • Knowledge base: articles for your team, for every customer or for one, published to the customer portal when you choose. See Knowledge base.
  • Credentials: the vault. See Credential vault.

Where to find it

Documentation sits in the sidebar's Records group, with tabs for Pages, Records and Knowledge base. Credentials sits next to it. In a customer's workspace both show only that customer (and the knowledge base adds the articles written for every customer).

Documentation also shows up where you already work:

  • a device's Documentation tab lists the pages and records linked to it;
  • a customer's Overview has a Documentation section with counts and the pages changed most recently;
  • global search (⌘K) finds pages, articles and records by title, and credentials by name, username or address (never by password).

Turning it on

RevoDocs is off for new workspaces. When it's on for your workspace, you can switch it off for one customer in Customer settings → Modules: its documentation pages disappear for that customer and its portal. Credentials stay in the vault either way.
