Device actions
Bulk and single-device actions on the Devices list and device pages, what each one sends to the agent, and who can use it.
Updated
On this page
Select devices on the Devices list (or select all matching) for bulk actions, or use the More menu on a device's page. Every dialog says which devices will be skipped and why before anything is sent. In the portfolio, a selection across customers becomes one job or deployment per customer.

Commands that need a newer agent are skipped on older devices, with agent too old as the reason.
Update agent
Update agent offers the newest signed release on the device's release channel right away, even when automatic agent updates are off. The agent checks the signature, replaces itself and restarts its own service (the computer doesn't restart). If the new version can't check in, it goes back to the old one.
If a device stays on the old version, check whether an allowlisting tool blocked the new binary (Allowlist RevoAgent).
Restart computer
The dialog spells out the impact: signed-in users see your warning and message, unsaved work can be lost and the device is unavailable for a few minutes. The Restart button stays disabled until you tick that you understand. You choose the warning time and message. Restarts are refused on a device whose local administrator switched restarts off (Local controls), and while patching is paused for the workspace.
Move to another customer
Owners and admins can move devices, for example into a test customer to try a patch policy.
- What moves: current status, missing updates, software, vulnerabilities and open findings, which now count for the new customer.
- What stays with the old customer: history (past jobs and deployments, detected changes, alerts, resolved findings).
- Unfinished scans, installs and restarts are cancelled. A patch policy only the old customer used is removed, and the device follows the new customer's policy and schedule.
- The agent keeps running and isn't reinstalled. Moving back is fine.
Each move is in the device's Activity and the audit log.
Disable, enable and remove
- Disable stops the device's requests from being accepted and cancels its unfinished jobs. Enable resumes it; cancelled assessments aren't restarted.
- Remove from Revo revokes the device's identity permanently: it can never check in again with it. The agent software stays on the computer until you uninstall it. To bring the computer back, install the agent again; it enrolls as a new device.
What the agent accepts
Every action is a signed job of a fixed type, bound to that device and customer and valid for a limited time. The agent rejects anything else: there's no way to send it a command, script, URL or installer.
