The knowledge base holds answers and how-tos: the steps your team follows to set up a VPN client, or the guide that lets a customer's staff reset their own password.
Who an article is for
When you create an article (Documentation → Knowledge base → New article) you choose who it's for:
- Your team only (internal): never shown to customers.
- Every customer: listed in every customer's knowledge base. Published to the portal, every customer's portal users can read it.
- One customer: only that customer's.
Publish to the customer portal (or ⋯ → Show in the customer portal later) puts an article for every customer or for one customer in the portal. Portal users see a Documentation page with the pages and articles shared with them, and can search it.
Search
The search box looks at titles and the full text, and matches the start of words: "print" finds "printer". Global search (⌘K) finds articles by title.
Writing
Articles are written like documentation pages: Markdown, versions, files.
